2021 4-star SDE set to announce college commitment

Four-star SDE Monkell Goodwine is set to make his college decision on Saturday after narrowing his list down to five schools.

The recruiting world has been turned upside down due to the coronavirus, but that does not mean that it has stopped. In fact, Alabama has seen 15 of its current 16 players for the 2021 commit during the global pandemic.

That has helped the Crimson Tide climb all the way to No. 2 (No. 1 in the SEC) according to 247Sports. But Nick Saban and the rest of his coaching staff isn’t done.

Monkell Goodwine, a four-star strongside defensive end from National Christian Academy in Fort Washington (Md.), is set to make his college decision on Saturday. According to a Tweet from Real Live Sports Nation, that decision is set to come at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET (2:30 CT).

The final five schools who have all been fighting for Monkell’s commitment are Alabama, Clemson, Kentucky, Texas A&M and Arizona State. The Crimson Tide, according to the Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports, are currently considered the favorite.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive lineman is currently rated as the No. 112 overall prospect, No. 9 strongside defensive end and No. 4 player from the state of Maryland, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
