21. Philadelphia Eagles
Justin Jefferson | WR | LSU
Carson Wentz was throwing to roster-bubble pass-catchers by the end of last season, revealing a severe lack of quality depth at receiver. Thankfully for him and the Eagles, this year’s class is loaded with talent at the position, and they should have plenty of quality options here. Jefferson is smooth, polished, and able to make a big play out of any touch.
22. Minnesota Vikings (from BUF)
Brandon Aiyuk | WR | Arizona State
Minnesota traded Stefon Diggs for this pick (and more), so why not replace him here? One of the fastest-rising names in this year’s draft, Aiyuk wasn’t able to take part in Senior Bowl week, but his film is strong enough to warrant first-round consideration. He’s a complete pass-catcher with big-play ability.
23. New England Patriots
Xavier McKinney | S | Alabama
Quarterback is definitely a possibility here, but I don’t see Utah State’s Jordan Love as a fit for what New England wants at the position. Instead, they start a youth movement on the back end of their defense, where aging veterans are in the twilight of their careers. McKinney’s athleticism, versatility and intelligence will make him an instant-impact player.
24. New Orleans Saints
Kenneth Murray | LB | Oklahoma
Drew Brees is back for another season, so this pick will be about helping him instead of looking for his replacement. Sometimes the best way to help your quarterback is strengthening your defense, something the Saints need to do at the second level. Murray is a smart, athletic defender who can make plays all over the field.
25. Minnesota Vikings
Kristian Fulton | CB | LSU
After replacing Stefon Diggs with their first of two first-round picks, the Vikings desperately need to find a No. 1 corner with this selection. Fulton is a big, physical cover man with tons of experience playing press-man coverage, and he’s been tested by some of the nation’s most talented pass-catchers.
