2020 NFL Draft: Clint Lamb’s final mock draft

The 2020 NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday, so it’s finally time to release my final mock draft before things get underway. This year was far-and-away the most difficult group I’ve ever had to predict due to the uncertainty surrounding the …

25. Minnesota Vikings – Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor

Analysis: The Vikings didn’t get Stefon Diggs’ replacement with the pick they acquired in his departure, but they did get it only a few picks later.

Granted, Denzel Mims isn’t the same type of receiver as Diggs, but at 6-3, 216 with 4.38 speed, he’ll be a really nice vertical option for Kirk Cousins with Thielen, Tajae Sharpe, Kyle Rudolph and former Alabama tight end Irv Smith Jr. rounding out the options.

26. Miami Dolphins (via HOU) – D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia

Analysis: There might be some Miami fans who grow annoyed with the fact that their team avoided the defense entirely in the first round, but Tagovailoa is going to need as much help as possible to keep him protected.

D’Andre Swift would do well working in tandem with former UAB and Indiana running back Jordan Howard, who was brought in as a free agent to act as the lead back.

27. Seattle Seahawks – Josh Uche, EDGE, Michigan

Analysis: Honestly, I’ve given up trying to predict what Seattle is going to do in the draft.

Four of the team’s last five first-round picks, L.J. Collier (2019), Rashaad Penny (2018), Bruce Irvin (2012) and James Carpenter (2011), weren’t close to being considered Day 1 prospect, after all.

It’s likely that they’ll choose to trade down if there’s a buyer, but if the stick with this pick, I’m going with another surprise selection to boost the pass rush and eventually take over for Irvin.
