2020 NFL Draft: Clint Lamb’s final mock draft

The 2020 NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday, so it’s finally time to release my final mock draft before things get underway. This year was far-and-away the most difficult group I’ve ever had to predict due to the uncertainty surrounding the …

22. Minnesota Vikings (BUF) – Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU

Analysis: Seeing Jefferson in Minnesota would’ve been fun, but it’s not the end of the world. TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney fills a major need after the departures of Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander.

With the team’s original first-round selection coming up, the Vikings can choose to find a new complementary option for Adam Thielen at that point.

23. New England Patriots – Jordan Love, QB, Utah State

Analysis: It’s really difficult to know what the Patriots are going to do come Thursday.

On one hand, it’s hard to imagine that the team truly believes in Jarrett Stidham after drafting him on Day 3 a year ago. But with that said, it’s also not like Bill Belichick to force a pick to fill a need.

Jordan Love might bring a balance because while he’s still needs some refinement, his ceiling is up there with the other elite quarterbacks in this draft class. In other words, he’s worth taking a gamble on.

24. New Orleans Saints – Patrick Queen, LB, LSU

Analysis: If Jordan Love is available at No. 24, it’s possible that New Orleans could consider making him the pick if the decision-makers don’t truly view Taysom Hill as the long-term successor for Drew Brees.

That idea is irrelevant, however, because Love isn’t even on the board any longer.

Patrick Queen is a local product out of LSU who could come in and help take an improving defense to another level — whether that’s at the Mike or Will position next to Demario Davis.
