2020 NFL draft: Bengals clinch No. 1 overall pick

The Cincinnati Bengals clinched the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft with a loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday

With Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Cincinnati Bengals are officially on the clock with the first selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Bengals certainly made it interesting, though.

After trailing 35-12 halfway through the fourth quarter, the Bengals scored three touchdowns in seven minutes, including a pair of two-point conversions, to tie the game and force overtime.

A late field goal in the extra period by Miami sealed the loss and locked in the top pick for Cincinnati.

Over the next several months there will be plenty of discussions about who the Bengals will make the number one overall selection.

The two most talked about players will have Ohio ties in regards to who is coming to the jungle. LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has been the player talked about all season, and with good reason. Following a Heisman campaign and all of the accolades he took home following this regular season, there is zero doubt that he should be a top selection.

The other name is Ohio State pass rusher Chase Young, who will be the top-rated player on most draft boards. Young can be a game changer on the defensive side of the ball. Young could finish his college career with double-digit sack numbers. Despite Young saying his current plan is to return to Ohio State for his senior season, most still expect him to declare for the 2020 draft.
