The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered multiple injuries on Friday night in their 20-12 loss to the Houston Texans. The Steelers got back to work on Sunday preparing to take on the Buffalo Bills and had two players leave practice with injuries as well.
On a day when running back Cordarrelle Patterson and defensive lineman Dean Lowry were able to finally practice this training camp, wide receiver Tariq Black and cornerback Kalon Barnes both had their practices cut short.
Head coach Mike Tomlin characterized the injuries as soft-tissue injuries, a hamstring for Black and a quad for Barnes.
Black only played seven snaps against the Texans. Barnes played over half of the defensive snaps for Pittsburgh Friday night.
Pittsburgh signed Barnes for his second stint with the Steelers in January of this year. Black was signed by the Steelers as a free agent in late July. Black is a longshot to make the team but Barnes shows a great deal of promise.
