Romo Magic was on full display in Landover, Maryland. He passed for three touchdowns on the afternoon, but two of them came in the fourth quarter during this thriller against their divisional rivals. A game-tying score came on a short throw to Laurent Robinson; the Cowboys took the lead on their next drive on a 59-yard touchdown catch and run by Jason Witten.

After Washington scored again with under 15 seconds to play to force an extra period, they had the chance to win on the opening possession of overtime. Graham Gano’s 52-yard field goal attempt missed, but Dan Bailey’s 39-yarder on the next drive didn’t.

Week 12: Cowboys 20, Dolphins 19

Four days later, the Cowboys, in all their throwback uniform glory, needed the entire 60 minutes to eke out a win on a warm Thanksgiving Day against the visitors from Miami.

The Dallas defense played a major role, limiting the Dolphins to field goals four times when they had reached the Cowboys 10. DeMarco Murray racked up 128 all-purpose yards and was instrumental in chewing up yardage and clock as the Cowboys marched downfield late in the game to set up a 28-yard Dan Bailey field goal as time expired.

It was Bailey’s 26th successful field goal in a row and his fourth of the season to decide a game within the last two minutes or overtime.[lawrence-newsletter]
