Any day now (any day now), Aaron Rodgers will finally make a decision on his NFL future. It very well might include a blockbuster trade of the Hall of Fame quarterback to the New York Jets.
Recent developments have seen New York’s regime in heavy talks with Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers to get the QB in green and white. After all, with the 39-year-old Rodgers in the fold, the talented Jets can probably contend in the AFC.
There’s just one “problem”: former No. 2 overall Zach Wilson is still on New York’s roster. Well, I should say it’s probably not a problem for the Jets, who are clearly ready to move on to a QB who belongs at this level. But, it is undoubtedly awkward for Wilson — who has watched his team and teammates flirt with Rodgers with controlled abandon to get him on the Jets.
NFL fans have not forgotten about Wilson’s unfortunate circumstances in this situation. And they’ve had a lot of jokes about it.
