Mario Addison Day
The new Bills defensive end will fit in the “giving back” nature that many of his new teammates share. During his NFL career, there’s a ton he’s done for his hometown of Birmingham, Ala. There he runs the Mario Addison Community Partnership. Through that, he’s done various community events such as taking youngsters on a $100 shopping spree at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Trussville, Ala., and a football camp he ran for area children with his now former teammate James Bradberry, who’s from the same region. Nearly 800 kids show up for it. The camp took place this past year on July 7, a day his hometown declared as “Mario Addison Day.”
“I do it to show them that somebody cares,” Addison said to the Panthers’ team website. “… Now that I’m in a position to give, that’s what I want to do — that’s the least I can do because I care. Now that I’m able to do it, do it. It’s just as simple as that — do it.”
Here’s Addison passing out Thanksgiving turkeys as well:
