10 Michigan football recruiting targets to watch in 2021

247Sports’ Steve Lorenz joined WolverinesWire and the Locked On Wolverines podcast to share who Michigan’s going after the hardest in 2021.

Malcolm Johnson Jr.

Hometown Alexandria (VA) St. Stephens & St. Agnes
Height 6-foot-1
Weight 185-pounds
Position  Wide receiver
247Sports ranking 4-star, 166 overall

Lorenz’s take:

“6’1”, so not quite that long, lanky type guy, but a legitimate national track star. I believe he’s been timed around a 4.4 40.

“Johnson, higher ceiling, great track star. Again, Michigan got on this one very, very early. He now has a very national offer list. LSU just offered last week. He’s had Alabama for a little bit. Auburn, South Carolina. I think Ohio State has offered. Oklahoma, another one.

“A lot of the better programs in the country have taken notice of him as well. We’ve had him listed as a top target for quite awhile.”
