Lorenz’s take:

“(He’s) a straight up defensive tackle out of New Jersey. Also a baseball prospect. Goes to Bergen Catholic which is where former Michigan assistant Anthony Campanile has deep connections to. I think his brother’s still the head coach there. With him and Partridge both out, it’ll be interesting to see where Michigan trends in that race. As you’d expect, it’s not a great thing to have both of your main New Jersey guys no longer with the program in that case.

“But, he’s been there a couple times. He might be familiar enough with Michigan where he doesn’t need such a direct connection to give them a real shot.

“Again, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M, Florida are other programs involved there.”
