Zion Williamson stopped to sign autographs after warmups in Detroit

With the Pelicans set to face the Pistons on the road, Williamson volunteered to sign autographs for fans after his pre-game warmup.

As Zion Williamson nears a return to the court, the No. 1 overall pick volunteered to sign autographs for fans in Detroit after completing his pre-game warmup.

An official return date for Williamson has not yet been finalized but the forward has made significant progress in his recovery from knee surgery on Oct. 21. Williamson has traveled with the team in recent weeks on the road and now is a full participant in practice and various other on-court drills.

Since Williamson has started traveling with the team on the road, he will often make time to sign autographs for fans in opposing arenas after finishing up his pre-game work.

After becoming the National Player of the Year last season at Duke, Williamson has become one of the most popular players in the NBA even before making his official debut. Given his electric playing style, Williamson is a fan favorite and gives back to those in attendance at seemingly every opportunity.

The Pistons host the Pelicans at 7 p.m. ET on Monday night.
