Tennessee basketball player Zakai Zeigler was named SEC Player of the Week.
Zeigler, a senior guard for the Vols, totaled 17 points and a career-high 15 assists in Tennessee’s, 84-62, victory against Middle Tennessee State on Dec. 23 at Food City Center.
He has recorded 11 career double-double performances.
Zeigler is the second Tennessee player to earn SEC Player of the Week honors, joining Chaz Lanier.
The two-time All-SEC standout recorded the highest assists total by any SEC player in a nonconference game since 2019. Zeigler was also the first conference player to have a 15-point, 15-assist performance in a nonconference game during the last two decades.
