Tennessee guard Zakai Zeigler has been named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week.
Zeigler, a native of Long Island, New York, tied his career-high with 18 points in Tennessee’s, 81-58, victory at South Carolina. He also had three assists and two rebounds for No. 18 Tennessee (16-6, 7-3 SEC) against the Gamecocks.
Zeigler had 14 points for the Vols in its 90-80 win over Texas A&M on Feb. 1 at Thompson-Boling Arena.
The Vols have won five consecutive conference games and will return to action Wednesday at Mississippi State.
Tipoff is slated for 9 p.m. EST and the game will be televised by ESPN2.
