Zach Segars: ‘Deion Sanders and his staff have been incredibly impressive so far’

Zach Segars believes that Coach Prime has transformed Colorado into a “top recruiting destination”

Our series of asking CU football experts to give their take on the 2023 Buffs continues with Zach Segars of Mile High Sports.

Segars has covered the Denver Broncos for Mile High Sports since 2017 and recently became the outlet’s senior writer and editor of Colorado athletics coverage. His tremendous work can be found at milehighsports.com and you can follow him on Twitter here.

One of my first questions to Segars: What do you think of the job that head coach Deion Sanders has done with his staff?

I think Deion Sanders and his staff have been incredibly impressive so far. After covering the Denver Broncos dumpster fire the last few seasons, it’s nice seeing how Sanders runs the operation. He’s employing experienced and highly regarded assistants underneath him and then has shown a willingness to delegate to those assistants. Meanwhile, Prime has turned Colorado into a top recruiting destination, as he built the nation’s No. 1 transfer class and a top-40 freshman class as a December hire taking over a radioactive job outside a recruiting hotbed.

Earlier, we posted Segars’ thoughts on which Buffs players will step up as leaders in Coach Prime’s first season.

We’ve also been given insight from Jake Schwanitz of DNVR Buffs and Jimmie Searfoss of BuffStampede.
