You’ll be able to see Liv Morgan on TV this weekend (just not in WWE)

The NASCAR drivers won’t be able to fire their engines this weekend in Charlotte until Liv Morgan gives the command.

Fans anxious to see Liv Morgan again might want to tune in to the beginning of this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series playoff race.

As announced today by Charlotte Motor Speedway, Morgan will be the Grand Marshal for Sunday’s Bank of America ROVAL 400 at the track. For those unfamiliar with NASCAR or auto racing in general, that means Morgan will be featured in the pre-race festivities and give the “Drivers, start your engines” command prior to the green flag that starts the event.

“The same qualities that make a great WWE champion – passion, commitment and dedication – are what NASCAR’s best will need to survive Sunday’s Bank of America ROVAL 400,” Morgan said in a press release. “I can’t wait to be there to see all the action, hang out with the fans and find out who’s got what it takes to bring home the win.”

It’s not uncommon for WWE superstars to appear at motorsports events. In recent years, a handful of them have served as Grand Marshals like Morgan. In addition, Charlotte Flair was an honorary race official for NASCAR’s Daytona 500 in February, while Ricochet was the Grand Marshal for the INDYCAR Gallagher Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in August.

Often, WWE sees these appearances as marketing opportunities for shows in the same markets — it was definitely mentioned for Ricochet that Fastlane was coming up in Indy later in the year. For Morgan, it’s also a good opportunity to keep her in the spotlight as she continues to recuperate from a injury.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful had no update on that when asked today except that she is still recovering:

But at least for one day, her fans will be able to catch her on TV again. Coverage of the Bank of America ROVAL 400 begins this Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. ET on NBC.
