Year of the Underdog: Undrafted rookies making an impact this season

With most teams having played about a dozen games so far, Rookie Wire took a look at those undrafted players making an early splash.

Kendrick Nunn, Miami Heat

Season Stats: 17.8 points, 3.2 assists, 2.5 rebounds

Of course, Nunn has stolen the spotlight this season with the Heat.

The former Oakland guard is second in scoring among all rookies and is first in field goals and 3-point shots. He has recorded at least 20 points in three straight games for the first time and his hot start is a huge reason why the Heat are third in the Eastern Conference.

Nunn is on pace to shatter several Heat franchise rookie records, including scoring average, field-goal percentage and 3-pointers made. If he can keep his current pace up, not only will he etch his name in Heat history, he may also very well find himself in the conversation for Rookie of the Year.
