Former Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy unofficially tied NFL history during this weekend’s combine during the annual 40-yard dash.
On his second attempt, Worthy unofficially ran a genuinely stunning 4.22-second 40, which would tie NFL receiver John Ross III for the fastest 40 time in NFL combine history. He improved his time from 4.25 on the first attempt.
Right before he interviewed NFL Network’s Stacey Dales about his potentially historic achievement, Worthy needed a second to catch his breath before he reflected on this incredible set of 40-yard dash attempts.
This was such an understandable moment after such a monumental run in front of the entire NFL’s crew of scouts. We’re guessing more than a few teams just moved Worthy up their draft boards for April after this.
What a moment.

NFL fans couldn’t believe just how incredible this run was for Worthy, who might’ve needed a breather before an interview but might’ve cemented himself into the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
