The Xavier Worthy hype train is still chugging along, as the Texas wide receiver earned more honors after his stellar freshman season.
Worthy finished the season with multiple broken records to his name, including the most single-season receptions (62), receiving yards (981) and receiving touchdowns (12) in program history.
Longhorns fans have to be pleased and excited for the future of the program based off Worthy’s amazing season, as he was the lone recruit that Steve Sarkisian added to the 2021 recruiting class. Worthy was one of the lone bright spots on a team that majorly underwhelmed, going 5-7 and losing six games in a row prior to winning the last game of the season.
His individual performance was still outstanding though, as he recently was named a freshman All-American by Football Writers Association of America.

The Longhorns will look for Worthy to continue his success, and maybe even add to his already ridiculous stats now that quarterback prodigy Quinn Ewers will be throwing him the ball.
Texas is still in the market for a consistent second option in the transfer portal, but with the recent addition of Alabama transfer Jahleel Billingsley, along with the health of Jordan Whittington and Troy Omeire, the Longhorns could have a very dangerous group of pass catchers.
