Xavier Rhodes will not make Bills debut vs. Ravens

Xavier Rhodes is out for the #Bills’ Week 4 meeting with the #Ravens:

The Buffalo Bills signed veteran cornerback Xavier Rhodes on Tuesday. The hope was the veteran cornerback could provide some much-needed depth after the injury bug bit the team’s secondary early this year.

That won’t be the case in Week 4.

On Friday, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said via video conference that Rhodes will miss the Bills’ upcoming matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. It’s not because Rhodes did not get up to speed with his new team.

McDermott said Rhodes has sustained a hamstring injury and will not play.

Even without injury, Rhodes might have been a longshot to start.

Regardless, it’s not happening.

On Friday, Rhodes did not practice due to the issue. Following the workout, he told reporters including the Buffalo News that the injury was sustained the day prior during practice. He indicated it’s not a serious injury.

Check back at Bills Wire for the final full injury reports for both the Bills and Ravens ahead of their Week 4 meeting.

Worth noting, because Rhodes signed to the Bills’ practice squad and not the active roster, he will not appear on injury reports released by the team. He could still have been elevated from the taxi squad, if the Bills deemed him ready to play.
