Two of WWE’s championships are being held by the Tribal Chief, who isn’t defending them tonight on SmackDown in Baton Rouge. But another champion is putting his title on the line: That’d be Ricochet, who will try to fend off the stern challenge of Gunther.
It’s also time for the Money in the Bank fields on both the men’s and women’s sides to start to come together, and this episode gets that process rolling with a pair of qualifying matches. Drew McIntyre, who looks like he wants to get his shot at Roman Reigns by any means necessary, faces Sheamus in one of them. The other one sees Lacey Evans, making her return to active competition, go up against Xia Li, who feels criminally underused at the moment.
Those are the only bouts or segments WWE has in its official preview, but one suspects that Riddle will make his way over to the show as well. On Raw, he promised to return to SmackDown to force Reigns to … well, acknowledge him and his mission to get some payback for his dear friend, Randy. You know the one who sometimes hears voices.
