It’s a tale as old as time tonight on WWE Raw: Boy wants to be like Dad, a high-flying masked wrestler, when he grows up. Then boy has a hard time living up to Dad, falls in with the wrong crowd, discovers bad girls, and now Dad’s friend is threatening to kick the crap out of him.
You know, the usual.
Jokes aside, Dominik Mysterio is definitely planting a stake in the ground of his adulthood tonight in Portland when he takes on Edge. Rey Mysterio pleaded on his son’s behalf for Edge to cut him a break, but the incessant attacks by The Judgment Day, now counting Dominik among their ranks, left him little choice but to offer to settle their beef in the ring.
That begs the obvious question of whether this will be a fair, one-on-one fight, but the answer is likely in there already. We’ll see if Rey comes to Edge’s aid, even if that puts him in an awkward position since he’s promised not to lay hands on his own child.
Also on tap for tonight is the in-ring return of Johnny Gargano. WWE hasn’t announced who he’s facing yet, but it’s doubtful the fans will care too much as they just want to see him do his thing again. Baby Wrestling hasn’t watched one of Johnny’s matches live yet either, so hopefully it isn’t past his bedtime.
Last but not least among what was announced prior to the show, tag team champions Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah have to face the team that they beat to get the titles in the first place, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY. Considering how popular Damage CTRL has proven to be so far, it’ll be interesting if fans are backing them louder than the champs. It could happen.
The only way to find out is to tune in live on USA. Actually, that’s not 100% true, because you could also bookmark this page since we’ll be updating it with the latest WWE Raw results as they happen. Whatever works best for you.
