WWE Raw preview 02/05/24: Will #WeWantCody sweep over Monday night?

Gunther celebrating 600 days as IC champ and a women’s tag team title match will also be part of WWE Raw from St. Louis.

So … nothing much happened since the last episode of WWE Raw, right? Yeah, not much. Just The Rock stepping in and looking like he’ll face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania in the match everyone expected Cody Rhodes was going to get. That hasn’t been talked about at all in the last few days.

Sarcasm aside, Rhodes has to pick up the pieces and continue on, and he can’t really take the night off tonight as Raw heads to St. Louis.

Cody Rhodes can’t afford to overlook Shinsuke Nakamura

The American Nightmare already knows this, of course, as he had to deal with a running feud with Shinsuke Nakamura not that long ago. One good thing: It’s a Bull Rope match, which is something that runs in the Rhodes blood.

The more interesting thing to watch for is the crowd reaction Rhodes gets. He’s already the top fan favorite on Raw, and perhaps all of WWE. A lot of people seem ticked that he’s seemingly been shuffled aside for The Rock, at least online. Will that anger carry over to TV tonight?

Is Gunther about to get an Elimination Chamber surprise?

WWE has been promoting that Gunther is going to celebrate 600 days as Intercontinental Champion, which is well deserved. He’s run through a wide range of challengers over that time, making it seem like he’s unbeatable.

But here’s what we can’t get out of our heads: Elimination Chamber is just a few weeks away, and the original plan for the Men’s Chamber match involved CM Punk, who is now injured. It would make a lot of sense if Gunther had to defend his title against five other competitors in the Chamber, so we’re anxious to see if that might be what awaits him on Raw.

Can Katana Chance and Kayden Carter win back the tag team titles?

Though Katana Chance and Kayden Carter provided a much needed jolt to the women’s tag team division, their reign as champs was fairly brief. Now they’ll get an opportunity to win them back against the Kabuki Warriors, who were most recently seen attacking Bayley on SmackDown.

Just a thought here, but Bayley could certainly take this chance to pay Asuka and Kairi Sane back by interfering in this bout, which would benefit Chance and Carter. Something to file away while watching tonight’s show.

We’ll be set to take in and recap all the action from St. Louis, so join us back here at Wrestling Junkie at 8 p.m. ET for live results and updates.
