The 49ers on Monday announced the re-signing of wide receiver Willie Snead IV to a one-year contract.
Snead spent last year with the 49ers, splitting time between the practice squad and the active roster. He spent four games up for the team and didn’t record a stat in 30 offensive snaps. He also played 38 special teams snaps.
It’s unlikely he cracks the Week 1 roster this season, but the 49ers desperately need some offseason depth at WR and Snead’s familiarity with the club should allow him to hit the ground running at offseason workouts and training camp.
In eight seasons Snead has played in 99 games with 48 starts. He has 279 career receptions for 3,431 yards and 16 touchdowns.
