WR Racey McMath doubtful, CB Derek Stingley Jr. should ‘be fine’ vs. Texas A&M

LSU head coach gave an update on the injury status of cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. and wide receiver Racey McMath on Monday.

The LSU Tigers secured a 27-24 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, evening the team’s record out to 3-3.

Head coach Ed Orgeron met with the media on Monday to discuss last week’s game, as well as look ahead to Saturday’s road matchup against Texas A&M.

Orgeron also addressed the status of injured players, saying that cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. would practice in a no-contact jersey, while wide receiver Racey McMath is considered doubtful to play this week.

The outlook for Stingley is optimistic, and though the cornerback has yet to be cleared, Orgeron said that it “looks like he’s going to be fine.”

Stingley was injured on a punt return Saturday.

McMath, who will likely be missing this weekend, totals 14 receptions for 195 yards and a touchdown over five games.

Stingley has 20 tackles, a pass deflection and a forced fumble over the same amount of games.

The Tigers and Aggies are set to kick off at 6 p.m. CT at Kyle Field on Saturday.
