Wizards to host pre-draft workout with Jaden Hardy, others

Hardy, the former No. 3 prospect, averaged 19.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists last season with the Ignite.

Projected first-round pick Jaden Hardy will be among the prospects to participate in a pre-draft workout with the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, the team announced.

Hardy, the former No. 3 prospect, averaged 19.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists on 37.6% shooting from the field in 25 games last season with the NBA G League Ignite. He recently called himself the top prospect in the draft this year.

The 6-foot-4 guard entered the season widely projected to be a top-five pick but is now considered a late first-round selection. He slipped on draft boards due to a variety of issues, such as his shooting, but is confident he can contribute at the next level.

In addition to Hardy, the Wizards will also host Florida guard Phlandrous Fleming Jr., Florida State guard Anthony Polite, West Virginia guard Taz Sherman, UC Irvine forward Collin Welp and UConn forward Isaiah Whaley on Tuesday.

The Wizards enter the draft with the 10th pick in the first round and the 54th pick in the second round, respectively. They have hosted workouts with several prospects of late, including Johnny Davis, Dyson Daniels and Tari Eason among others.

The NBA draft will take place on June 23.
