Wisconsin’s top five remaining targets in class of 2021

With Wisconsin’s 2020 recruiting class finished for the most part, here’s a look at its top remaining targets in the next class.

Darryl Peterson – Defensive End

Wisconsin has been considered the favorite for Peterson for a while now, to the point where there was even some speculation that the Badgers could receive a commitment from him this fall. Bucky was the first Division I offer he received back in September and his good friend and former high school teammate at Archbishop Hoban in Akron, Ohio, Quan Easterling, is a freshman fullback on Wisconsin’s roster.

However, this recruitment could prove a bit more challenging for the Badgers than they anticipated. Peterson, a 3-star prospect and the nation’s No. 489 overall player, just received offers from Michigan State and Alabama earlier this month to go along with other opportunities from schools like Iowa State, Maryland, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, and it now seems likely he could stay on the market for a while.

As with Bollers, though he’s listed as a defensive end, Wisconsin is recruiting Peterson as an outside linebacker.

Others to know: wide receiver Jaylin Noel, tight ends Jack Pugh and Lawson Albright, offensive tackles Rocco Spindler and David Davidkov, defensive end Ryan Keeler, inside linebackers Mac Uihlein, Kobe King and Trey Reynolds, outside linebackers Yanni Karlaftis and Damon Ollison and cornerback Kalen King.
