Joe Thomas is regarded by many as one of the best tackles to ever play the game of football.

The Wisconsin native started his Badger career as a blocking tight end in 2003 before he cracked the starting lineup in 2004 and became a pivotal piece of Barry Alvarez‘s offensive attack.

Thomas actually tore his ACL as a junior in 2005 when he was needed on the defensive line due to cluster injuries at the position.

That injury, as many know, became the last time Thomas would miss a snap until 2017 when he injured his tricep blocking linebacker Brian Orakpo. One month prior to Thomas finally leaving the field he logged his 10,000th consecutive snap since entering the NFL, 10+ seasons of playing every single snap at the highest level possible for a left tackle.

Thomas finally retired after the 2017 season having logged 10,363 consecutive snaps before his injury in addition to being named to seven first team All-Pro teams, ten Pro Bowls and as one of the members of the 2010 NFL All-Decade team.
