Wisconsin will play in one of On3’s best non-conference games of the 2024 college football season

Wisconsin’s Week 3 contest vs. Alabama was included in On3’s recent ranking of the top 10 non-conference games during the 2024 college football season.

On3’s national recruiting analyst Jesse Simonton ranked Texas vs. Michigan, Miami at Florida, LSU at USC, Georgia at Clemson, Notre Dame at Texas A&M, Penn State at West Virginia, Florida State at Notre Dame and NC State at Tennessee above UW’s match vs. the SEC giant.

In its first season as a member of the expanded 18-team Big Ten conference, Wisconsin will precede the conference gauntlet with its matchup against Alabama on Sept. 14 at Camp Randall. The Badgers last played the Crimson Tide on Sept. 15, 2015 — a 35-17 Crimson Tide victory thanks to a three-touchdown day from star RB Derrick Henry.

Following a turbulent start to its 2023 slate, Wisconsin finished the season with back-to-back conference wins to clinch a 7-6 mark and 22nd straight bowl appearance. Wisconsin could ignite early momentum during its 2024 season with an early victory against what projects to be one of the country’s highest-ranked squads.

Outside of Alabama, the Badgers will face a collection of the nation’s best in 2024 including Oregon, Penn State, USC, Iowa and Nebraska. It is the 24th-toughest schedule in the nation according to ESPN FPI.
