Wisconsin star running back Chez Mellusi announced yesterday he’d be returning to the Badgers for the 2024 season. It will be his fourth season in Madison and sixth overall in college.
The veteran will lead a room that saw Braelon Allen move to the NFL earlier this offseason. Mellusi brings 44 games of experience to the table, and would have much more if injuries hadn’t derailed each of the last few seasons.
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve always dreamed of playing at the highest level possible and getting a change to compete int he NFL,” Mellusi wrote on ‘X.’ “But I’m not done dreaming at Wisconsin. I’m excited to announce that I will be returning for the 2024 season. I can’t wait for one last go around in Camp Randall with my teammates.”

Mellusi rushed for 306 yards and four touchdowns on just 51 carries in 2023. He appeared to be the perfect fit for Wisconsin’s new offense under Phil Longo. Unfortunately, he fractured his fibula during the Badgers win at Purdue in late September and ended up missing most of the season.
A healthy Mellusi leading the Badgers backfield for an entire year should lead to positive results.
