Wisconsin ranked in the top half of the preseason AP Poll

The Wisconsin Badgers slotted in at No. 12 in today’s release of the preseason AP Poll, sitting at No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 1 in the Big Ten West

The ranking is three slots higher than their No. 15 spot in the AFCA Coaches Poll.

Since 2015 when Paul Chryst took over as head coach, their No. 12 slot in the preseason AP Poll is tied with 2020 for third-highest, falling behind 2017’s No. 9 preseason ranking and 2018’s No. 4 slot.

Official ranked games on Wisconsin’s schedule now are against No. 19 Penn State, No. 9 Notre Dame and No. 18 Iowa.
