Wisconsin Lands Commitment from 2021 LB Jake Chaney

The Badgers received good news on Sunday when 2021 linebacker Jake Chaney announced his commitment to Wisconsin.

Wisconsin hadn’t received a commitment in football since December 23rd when the Badgers landed highly coveted consensus four-star safety Hunter Wohler from Muskego High School.

That changed on Sunday when three-star inside linebacker Jake Chaney from Lehigh Acres, Fla. announced his commitment to Wisconsin in a Twitter post.

Chaney chose Wisconsin over other offers from Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa State, Pittsburgh, and more as he holds a total of 11 scholarship offers.

The Badgers didn’t sign a player from the state of Florida during the 2020 recruiting cycle as Chaney is the third linebacker to commit in the 2021 class as he joins Bryan Sanborn and Ayo Adebogun.

Although no high school prospects are currently allowed to visit Wisconsin due to the coronavirus outbreak Chaney did visit Wisconsin the weekend of November 23rd to see the Badgers play Purdue.

Chaney officially received his offer from Wisconsin in January as he was coming off a junior season in which he racked up 100 tackles, 10 for loss, and two sacks as he was named the District 7A Player of the Year in Florida.

Wisconsin currently has nine commitments in the 2021 recruiting class.
