Wisconsin was still in search of their quarterback for their 2020 recruiting class. That changed for the Badgers on Sunday when Daniel Wright from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa announced he had accepted a preferred walk-on offer from the Badgers.
Wright listed at 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds was previously committed to Division 2 Sioux Falls where his brother is currently on the roster. But the fact that Wright will be the only quarterback Wisconsin is going to take in the 2020 recruiting cycle to go along with Wisconsin’s walk-on tradition it was an offer he couldn’t turn down.
Wright was in Wisconsin this past weekend for an unofficial visit as he also held a preferred walk-on offer from Iowa State.
Wright represents the second walk-on to commit to Wisconsin in the last week as he joined Marquette University linebacker, Riley Nowakowski.
Wright in his varsity career threw for over 7,000 career passing yards and 78 touchdowns.
After signing 19 scholarship players and two walk-ons during the early signing period on December 18th the next wave of signees won’t be able to sign their national letter of intent until Wednesday, February 5th.
