Wisconsin’s impressive haul at the linebacker position in the 2020 recruiting cycle continued on Wednesday morning when consensus four star prospect Kaden Johnson announced he would sign with Wisconsin.
With Johnson signing with the Badgers that gives the Badgers six projected linebackers in the 2020 recruiting class as he joins a linebacker class that already includes Nick Herbig, Malik Reed, Jordan Turner, Aaron Witt, and Preston Zachman.
Johnson has been on Wisconsin’s radar for a while as the Badgers were one of 15 scholarship offers as Johnson selected Wisconsin over his two other finalists in Nebraska and Minnesota.
Johnson from Minnehaha Academy in St. Paul, MN was recruited by both inside linebackers coach Bob Bostad and outside linebackers coach Bobby April. Johnson rated as the No. 1 player in the state of Minnesota by both Rivals and 247 Sports represents the second player from the state of Minnesota to commit to Wisconsin during the 2020 recruiting cycle as Witt is from Winona.
Johnson listed at 6’4″ and 200 pounds also held offers from LSU, Oregon State, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, Northwestern, Purdue, and Tennessee.
