The Wisconsin basketball community came together on Saturday to honor Howard Moore. Wisconsin’s luncheon on Saturday kicked off a fundraising event for Moore and his family.
Wisconsin legends such as Bo Ryan and Michael Finley were in attendance to celebrate everything Moore did for Wisconsin basketball and help raise money for him and his family.
Before the luncheon, Ryan commented on what makes Moore such a special figure within the Wisconsin basketball community. ”
When I brought him here and I told him face to face that I’m offering him the job the tears couldn’t get any bigger,” said Ryan. “They started streaming down his face. He bear-hugged me. I could barely breathe and he said, “Coach, this has been my dream. I’ve wanted to be at Wisconsin. I’ve wanted to coach here,” and he was so emotional. I’d never seen anyone like this. … Howard Moore embraced it like no one I’ve ever seen.
