After two underwhelming performances last week that led to a blowout loss to No. 7 Michigan and a close win against Rutgers, the Wisconsin Badgers have fallen to No. 10 in the latest Ferris Mowers Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.
Wisconsin struggled immensely on both ends of the court against the Michigan Wolverines, and the defensive vulnerabilities continued against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights(7-5) with the Badgers allowing easy buckets in transition. Late D’Mitrik Trice heroics saved the game for Wisconsin, but this was far too close of a game against a team that lost four of their previous five.
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Ohio State and Minnesota both moved up after big wins last week to No. 18 and No. 17, while Illinois has fallen 11 spots to No. 24. After their upset loss to Minnesota, Michigan has remained at No. 7, while the Iowa Hawkeyes have crept back into the Top 4.
Despite the poor play of the Badgers last week, they only fell one spot in the latest Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll and will have a chance to redeem themselves this week with important games against Northwestern and Ohio State.
