Will Rams follow Falcons’ lead with new gradient uniform?

The Falcons got a new gradient uniform Wednesday. Are the Rams next?

The Los Angeles Rams won’t be the only team wearing new uniforms next season. In fact, this offseason is one filled with new looks. The Browns are getting redesigned threads, while the Chargers are tweaking their set, too. The Patriots and Colts’ uniforms are said to be getting tweaked, as well, even if it’s only a new alternate uniform.

The Atlanta Falcons unveiled their new uniforms on Wednesday morning, less than a day after their new look leaked on Twitter. They’re the second team to release redesigned uniforms this week, with the Buccaneers showing off theirs on Monday.

One of the Falcons’ uniform sets, in particular, was dragged through the mud more than the others. The team tried to get creative and released a gradient combination with a red jersey that fades into black at the bottom and into the pants.

It looks…cheesy.

Nope, nope, and nope.

On the surface, the Falcons’ redesign would seem to be completely unrelated to the Rams’ refreshed look. However, as you might remember, the Rams’ new logo features a gradient, transitioning from white to yellow – from L.A. to the horn.

With the Falcons getting a gradient uniform, does that mean the Rams are also getting one? Nothing has been confirmed or reported yet, but it would make some sense. The Rams have frequently talked about including elements of Los Angeles in their rebranding, such as the sunset coloring and the curl of a wave in the logo.

It’s very possible the team will unveil a sunset-style uniform set with a gradient transition from the jersey to the pants. And boy, would that be a mess.

The Rams haven’t said exactly when they’ll reveal their new uniforms, only that they’ll come later this spring. They’ll reportedly be released after the draft sometime, but no date has been set.

Until then, anticipation and anxiety among fans is going to be high, if only in hopes that the Rams don’t completely screw up their new look.
