With the Nebraska Cornhuskers preparing for their opening game of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, an intriguing name has entered the transfer portal that could be a potential target for Fred Hoiberg and company. Omaha forward Frankie Fidler has declared for the NBA draft but is maintaining his college eligibility through the portal.
The Bellevue, Nebraska native has played for the Mavericks for three seasons, appearing in 93 games. This season, Fiddler started in 33 games and averaged 20.1 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
The Mavs finished the season with a 15-18 record, ending in the second round of the Summit League Tournament. Nebraska is believed to be interested in the star forward, but the Creighton Blue Jays will also compete for his services.
