Will Mabrey rehabbing, expected to be fully ready for spring training

Former Tennessee pitcher Will Mabrey is rehabbing and is expected to be fully ready for spring training.

Former Vol pitcher Will Mabrey was assigned to ACL Diamondbacks Black of the Arizona Complex League on Aug. 8.

Mabrey will not play in the ACL League and is rehabbing for three months due to a procedure on both knees.

Mabrey told Vols Wire he “will be fully ready come spring training.”

Mabrey was selected in the sixth round by Arizona (No. 168 overall) of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Mabrey (2-0) appeared in 29 games in 2022 for the Vols. He recorded 52 strikeouts and a 2.63 ERA in 2022.

Tennessee won the Southeastern Conference East division for the second consecutive season, the league regular season and tournament championships in 2022.

Mabrey (2-0) appeared in 46 games for the Vols from 2020-22. He recorded 64 strikeouts with a 2.38 ERA during his career at Tennessee.
