Senior wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. suffered a lower-body injury early in Colorado football’s Week 11 game at Texas Tech that kept him sidelined for the entire second half.
As things currently stand, Horn is questionable to play in the Buffs’ Week 12 game against the Utah Utes, according to CU head coach Deion Sanders.
A former USF transfer, Horn has been one of Colorado’s biggest offensive weapons this season. His 434 receiving yards rank fourth on the team through nine games.
Colorado and Utah will kick off at 10 a.m. MT on Saturday (Fox).
Jimmy Horn Jr. injury update
Coach Prime shared the latest on Horn during his weekly press conference on Tuesday:
“It’s going to be day-by-day,” Sanders said. “We hope he’s able to work Thursday. If he gives us a good Thursday-Friday, then he’s a go. Jimmy’s the kind of guy that he likes to practice. I don’t think he’s capable right now, but you never how that will change by Thursday (or) by week’s end.”
How long will Jimmy Horn Jr. be out?
Depending on how his health improves throughout the week, Horn could play on Saturday against Utah. If not, he’ll likely return on Nov. 23 at Kansas.
Colorado football wide receiver depth
Even with Omarion Miller out for the season and Horn considered day-to-day, the Buffs still boast great depth at the wide receiver position. Those most likely to see increased playing time in Horn’s potential absence include freshman Drelon Miller and Terrell Timmons Jr.
