Will all Colorado games be shootouts this season?

USC fans can relate to a team which is all offense and no defense. Will Colorado take on that identity the next 2.5 months?

The Pac-12 football season could have a lot of shootouts, and not just in the games USC plays. Colorado winning its season opener by a 45-42 score has invited the possibility that the Buffaloes will become yet another team which has a great offense and a mediocre-or-worse defense.

We asked our Pac-12 experts: “Where would you set the over-under for Oregon-Colorado on September 23?”

Matt Wadleigh, Trojans and Buffaloes Wire: The over-under for the Oregon-Colorado game might be at 90. A final score of something like 52-35 seems most realistic with the Ducks winning.

Zachary Neel, Ducks Wire: I  would probably say in the high 60s. I have confidence that Oregon’s defense is pretty good this year, so I think they can keep that side of scoring down to a reasonable level.

Matt Zemek, Trojans Wire: 82.5. Colorado’s offense might struggle in Autzen Stadium against an Oregon defense with a lot to prove, but even if CU doesn’t score a huge amount of points, Oregon’s offense should score over 50. A score of 55-27 sounds reasonable.
