Why Larry Walker may have worn a SpongeBob pin at Hall of Fame Induction ceremony

This guy loves SpongeBob, apparently.

Back in January 2020, Larry Walker found out he was going to enshrined in Cooperstown at the Baseball Hall of Fame.

And while it was an incredible achievement given that it was his final year of eligibility and the career .313 hitter had finally made it, all anyone could talk about was … the shirt he was wearing when he got the call.

It was a SpongeBob SquarePants shirt. And not just any SpongeBob shirt — it read, “Ain’t no ordinary sponge.” Seriously, it was glorious.

Fast-forward to the enshrinement ceremony on Wednesday, and guess what he wore on his lapel? A SpongeBob pin!

So why would he wear the pin? My guess is it’s a nod to the shirt, and how fun is that?
