Why Kristaps Porzingis is the center of the Boston Celtics’ title hopes

Porzingis has been having one of the better seasons of his career.

So far, in his first season as a member of the Boston Celtics, star Latvian center Kristaps Porzingis has been having one of the better seasons of his career. Putting up 20.4 points on the second-lowest number of field goal attempts in his career, shots are coming easier and more open than ever with the Celtics as KP shoots a career-high 52.0% from the field.

What the Boston bog man has been doing for his teammates has been nothing short of transformational on both ends of the court, with Porzingis’ already high defensive capabilities elevated even higher by this Boston roster.

The host of the semi-eponymous Yahoo! Sports “Devine Intervention” podcast, Dan Devine, weighed in on the Celtics center’s impact on his new team in their 2023-24 campaign, and what his presence might mean for their title hopes.
