Could Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson be coming to the New England Patriots? According to some Vegas odds, it’s possible for the 2021 season.
According to some of the latest odds by BetOnline, Watson is the favorite to be under center in Week 1 at +300. Interestingly enough, Florida quarterback Kyle Trask is next in line at +700.
At this time, it’s an interesting proposition. Watson would be terrific in New England and give them a mobile quarterback, something they haven’t had in decades. There is also the possibility that Watson could follow DeAndre Hopkins out the door. With Hopkins having been such a huge part of the Houston offense, Watson may be looking for a change of scenery as well.
Even so, it would be stunning to see Watson change places. He has become the face of the Houston Texans organization. In his career, he has thrown for 9,716 yards and 71 touchdowns. His best season for Houston came in 2018. That year, he threw for 4,165 yards, 26 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the last two seasons.
It will be hard to gauge what things will look like in 2021. Chances are, Vegas is just proposing a trap bet. Even still, it does make you wonder what the future will look like at the quarterback position for New England. Now in the post-Brady era, the New England Patriots are entering uncharted territory.
