All eyes will be on State College, Pennsylvania, this weekend as the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes come to town to take on the No. 3 Nittany Lions.
ESPN’s College GameDay will also be on campus, setting up its set outside the Bryce Jordan Center and hosting its Saturday morning pregame show. One of the best parts of the show is a guest picker joining the crew to make picks on the best college football games of the day. ESPN announced Thursday that Emmy-winning comedian/actor and Penn State alum Keegan-Michael Key will be the guest picker.
Saturday’s show will mark Key’s fourth time as guest picker. Key made appearances on GameDay in 2018 at the Ohio State game, in 2016 at the Big Ten title game and in 2017 when the show was in New York City. Key will take over for Saquon Barkley, who was Penn State’s last guest picker when GameDay visited Happy Valley last.
Key is a good choice due to his past appearances at Penn State games and his physical appearance being strikingly similar to [autotag]James Franklin[/autotag]. He likely will break out his James Franklin impersonation on the set Saturday morning.
Saturday will be the 11th time in the show’s history that ESPN’s College GameDay will be live from Penn State’s campus. This is the 24th time College GameDay has been hosted at the site of a Penn State game (GameDay has had two other unofficial appearances at Penn State games) and the 13th time at the site of a Penn State-Ohio State game, the most frequent matchup in College GameDay history.
