Mariani was a Pro Bowl returner as a rookie in 2010, scoring touchdowns on both a punt return and a kick return. he spent four seasons with the Titans as primarily a returner. He spent all of 2013 on injured reserve. He re-signed in 2014 but was cut before the season and signed with the Chicago Bears, playing there two seasons. He had 22 catches in 2015 and returned to the Titans in 2016 to be their primary returner. That was the end of his NFL career.
