After winning the Week 1 matchup against the Utah State Aggies, the Alabama Crimson Tide will face a much more difficult task this week with the Texas Longhorns. The Crimson Tide will make the trip out to Austin to face the Longhorns in the boiling hot sun for an 11 a.m. CDT kickoff.
The Crimson Tide started the season ranked No. 1, and they look to hold onto that position. The Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes have been hot on the Alabama trail. Both programs walk away with double-digit victories against top-15 teams.
This week, College Football News predicted the NY6 bowls as well as the two playoff games. As of now, the Crimson Tide is expected to meet up with the USC Trojans in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, which will be one of the CFP semi-finals. The other semi-final will see the Buckeyes and Bulldogs collide in Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl.
If the Crimson Tide can take care of business on Saturday, they are sitting in a very solid position for yet another playoff appearance. Although the month of October is when Alabama will be truly tested.
