The 2020 college football season is beginning to heat up.
LSU may be sitting at 2-3, but the Tigers have playmakers all over the field that are worthy of being selected in the 2021 NFL draft.
On Tuesday, CBS Sports updated its 2021 mock draft, and there is a major surprise.
The Tigers only have one player selected in the first round.

Last week, CBS Sports had LSU receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall Jr. as first round selections.
But with the Tigers off last week, Marshall dropped from the first round. While he is likely to squeak his way back into being a first-round pick, Chase is the only Tigers player listed this week as a potential first round selection during the 2021 NFL draft.
Here is a look at where CBS Sports projects Chase to end up.
Ja’Marr Chase- Round 1, Pick 9 (Cincinnati Bengals)
The Bengals could use another lethal receiver opposite of A.J. Green.
Cincinnati selected former LSU quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow as the first overall selection in the 2020 NFL draft.
Giving Burrow one of his former college teammates to pass to in the NFL would bring a sign of relief to the Bengals’ offense.
While the team desperately needs an offensive lineman to protect Burrow, picking Chase ninth overall would not be a bad selection.

At LSU in 2018 and 2019, Chase caught 107 passes for 2,093 yards with 23 career touchdowns.
Last season alone, the former LSU standout caught 84 passes for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns on his way to being the recipient of the Biletnikoff Award, which is given to college football’s best wide receiver.
While other teams will be in need of a receiver, Chase would fit the Bengals’ offensive scheme perfectly. Plus, Tigers fans would enjoy watching Burrow throw deep bombs to Chase on Sundays.
