Which Bills player would be most-deserving of a 10-year deal?

WR Stefon Diggs

The Bills spent a lot to bring Stefon Diggs onto their roster from the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. A slew of picks which included a first rounder. But sometimes you’ve got to risk it, and the Bills felt hat was justifiable. Speaking of which, how about justifying Diggs under a 10-year deal?

Diggs would feel a bit more like you’re squeezing things into the later stages of a decade-long deal in regard to his style of play. Currently at 25, in the first half of that deal, the Bills would probably get a good bang for their buck. Diggs comes to the Bills entering the prime years of his career. However, by the end of such a long deal, you’d be looking at Diggs as a Larry Fitzgerald, who’s currently 36.

Still, for a good chunk of that deal the Bills would make out well. Cole Beasley is going to be 31 next season with the Bills. In just his first season with the team, he set a career-high with seven touchdowns. Fitzgerald, over the course of his career which began in 2001, has been a staple as a 6-foot-3 possession receiver. Diggs hasn’t, he a go-up-and-get-it guy. Exactly what Buffalo needs in the short-term. But perhaps in justifying the later years of his hypothetical 10-year contract, we could see him move more into a Beasley role in the slot if he slows down on the outside.
