OL Trey Adams
Another rookie…this time in the trenches. For very similar reasons to Boehm, rookie Trey Adams has a shot to make the Bills roster. After McGhin was cut, that’s one less youthful prospect Adams has to battle for a spot with, but Adams’ focus is more on the outside of things.
A tackle in college, Adams can play both the left and right side of Buffalo’s line, potentially as a swing tackle. His main competition there might be Ty Nsekehe. If Adams shows well at camp, Nsekhe could be a cap casualty as well. Plus, Adams was a highly-outed prospect at one time despite being an undrafted rookie following the recent draft.
Early on, he was viewed as at least a Day 2 draft pick in his college career, but he suffered an ACL injury in 2017 which set him way back. He proved last season he was healthy though, starting every game. In terms of what he can do on the field, Pro Football Focus ranked Adams as their 38th best available UDFA following the draft.
Furthermore, Bills general manager Brandon Beane did not pick any offensive lineman at the 2020 Draft. He said following the draft that he tried to but things didn’t fall the way he wanted. So there’s a desire there to find a young prospect by the Bills front office.
